Jim Lackemacher (Group VP, Defense and Security)

Jim Lackemacher serves as group vice president, Defense & Security Business Systems, at Sparton Corporation. In this role, he leads strategic direction of the Company’s Defense & Security business unit providing multiple products into government and commercial channels. He also serves as vice president of the ERAPSCO/Sonobuoy Tech Systems joint venture (JV). Lackemacher has a key leadership role in the management and growth of the JV, working closely with partner Undersea Sensor Systems, Inc.

 

Previously, since joining Sparton in 1998, Lackemacher has held numerous senior leadership positions in engineering, program management, and business management.

 

Prior to joining Sparton, Lackemacher served as an officer in the U.S. Navy, retiring after a successful career in 1998. During his Naval career, he gained extensive experience directing all aspects of personnel, material and mission readiness. He served in numerous leadership positions on several naval warships, as well as most recently holding a significant role at the Mine Warfare Program Office.

 

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from the University of California, in Berkeley, Calif., and a Masters of Science degree in physics from the Naval Postgraduate School, in Monterey, Calif.

 

Lackemacher is a member of the National Defense Industrial Association.
