Sparton Corporation Opens a Medical Manufacturing Area in Its Florida Facility
JACKSON, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 11, 2004--Electronics Design and Manufacturing Service (EMS) provider Sparton Corporation (NYSE:SPA) today announced the opening of a state-of-the-art medical manufacturing area to support its medical design business.
The 10,000 square-foot area, located in its DeLeon Springs, Florida facility will be utilized by Sparton Medical Solutions, a business group of Sparton Corporation which designs and manufactures medical electronics.
This manufacturing area offers enhanced environmental and cleanliness controls for the manufacture of Class I, II, and III electronic medical devices. Enhancements in the new area include HEPA air-filtration, precleaning of manufacturing materials and gowning procedures for manufacturing personnel.
The opening of this state-of-the-art area was celebrated with a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony. Attendees included Sparton CEO, David Hockenbrocht, Dr. Chi Van Dang, Vice Dean for Research Johns Hopkins Medicine, Robert Kundinger, Director of Medical Business Development and Sparton Alliance Partner representatives.
